Presented by Joe Grabowski
Technology is enabling some amazing learning opportunities for 21st century learners via virtual learning environments, enabling students to make connections around the world and become global citizens. Platforms like Skype and Google Hangouts are providing innovative ways to support teaching and learning.
In this session, you will learn how to connect with amazing guest speakers from around the world, compete with other classrooms in a fast paced geographical race known as Mystery Skype and take a virtual field trip to an active volcano, the bottom of the ocean floor or a penguin colony in Antarctica! You will leave this K-12 session ready to take down the walls of your classroom and connect your students to the world.
Using the Google Hangout platform, we connect students with leading researchers, daring adventurers and innovative conservationists, giving students the chance to ask big questions and find meaningful role models and mentors that could lead to exciting career paths.
