Innovation and Collaboration among Educators and Communities

Discussion created by northumberlandmakers on Aug 24, 2019

My co-Maker Melissa and I will be representing our organization, Northumberland Makers, which is a not-for-profit organization connecting people with each other and

equipment in the Northumberland area.  We are located at the Venture 13 building in Cobourg, where we have built a Makerlab with the help of the Town of Cobourg and the Northumberland CFDC.  We strive to provide education about, use of, and fun with tools such as 3D printers, arduinos, vinyl cutting machines, student tech such as Ozobots, robot mice, LegoRobotics, and more.  We encourage making of all kinds, including culinary, visual arts and sewing.

We have been running camps and clubs for youth and are expanding our programming to adults and families at our lab and to local organizations through our outreach program.

We have begun what we are calling our Innovation League.  We are looking for fellow educators and makers who can improve and increase the use and value of STEAM activities in the classroom and in places such as our lab.

Please join us to discuss, plan and play!camper hain
