Intended Learning Outcomes

At the session,
  participants will  gain a deeper
understanding of how to use purposeful talk structures to:

  1. assess student literacy learning needs
  2. respond to student literacy learning needs

The specific area of literacy focus will depend on areas of need identified in EPO Gap Closing in Literacy applications, and on continued work with symposium participants.

After the session,

participants will

  1. be able to assess with precision the literacy needs of their students, and respond with confidence to the needs of their students, using talk structures.
  2. work with colleagues in their schools and boards and have the support of a provincial literacy lead.
