  1. 1. What is the purpose of the session?
  • The proposed training is aimed at supporting students who identify as LGBT2S and may be facing multiple barriers due to intersecting dimensions of identity including ancestry, ethnic origin, gender identity, race, creed, sexual orientation, and others.
  • The training will also assist boards in their capacity to navigate through diverse perspectives and competing rights.


  1. 2. What are the intended outcomes of the session?

After the session, participants will have increased awareness and understanding about:

  • Issues impacting youth who identify as LGBT and Indigenous (Two-Spirit) such as coming out, familial alienation, addiction and mental health; and
  • Roles and responsibilities in the creation of safe schools in particular for LGBT and Two-Spirit youth, families and educators
