Intended Learning Outcomes

At the session, participants will

• develop their understanding of the indigenous content within the revised curriculum

• develop their own historical

understanding and awareness of Indigenous histories, perspectives, ways of knowing, historical and contemporary realities, including the residential school system and treaties

• work with newly created educator and student resources that align to revised curriculum

• collaborate as a board to develop an
implementation plan that includes local/regional Indigenous partners

After the session, participants will

apply new learning within classes and within boards

• meet and work through learning with indigenous community members from their specific region.

• create a school and board implementation plan

• use newly created educator and student resources that align to revised curriculum


Suggested Participants

educators and system leads who focus on Social Studies, Grades 4 – 6,
History Grades 7, 8 and 10, Civics and Citizenship Grade 10
