    Day 1

    Resources/Materials Needed

    Introduce students to Homework Help using the ready-to-go Homework Help student presentation and the Scavenger Hunt Activity.

    1. Students will register for their Homework Help accounts using their OENs.
    2. Students will explore the site by completing the Scavenger Hunt activity

     

    Students will be given a Homework Help bookmark and information letter to give to their parents

    • Laptops and iPads
    • Student OENs
    • Homework Help student presentation (Found in Media Tools)
    • Scavenger Hunt Activity (found in Classroom Tools)
    • Homework Help bookmarks

    Day 3

    Students will practice their math skills by participating in a carousel activity.

    There will be 4 activity centres:

    • Best Session activity centre
    • Tutorial activity centre
    • Listen & Learn activity centre
    • Glossary activity centre

     

    Students consolidate their learning by doing a self-assessment sheet

    • Laptops and iPads
    • Activity centre materials

    Day 4

    Resources/Materials Needed

    Minds On activity for lesson on fractions:

    • Students are asked to solve the following equation in groups: 2(y-8)/5 = 3(y+4)/3
    • View the Best Session video and discuss the strategy used as a class
      • Is it different from the strategy that you used? If so, how?
