Educators: Chantal Bouillon, Erin Naylor, Anne Normad, Meghan O'Neil, and Meaghan Tahon

 

Plan: To create authentic connections to the culture of Francophones in Canada and around the world for Core French students by integrating intercultural components in every language strand of the revised 2013 Ontario Curriculum Core French.

 

Action: The team developed units with a Teacher's Guide ensuring that they include the cultural curriculum connections, the incorporation of different technologies, language functions from CEFR, learning goals, strong action-oriented tasks, and assessments for different strands.

 

Reflect: The group developed strategies to integrate technology to bring Francophone culture to the class, learned how to incorporate language functions to guide learning goals, developed a structure based on cultural contexts relevant to students, and gained an understanding of how to bring the Common European Framework of Reference into teaching.
