Welcome to TVO’s mPower! In this video, we are highlighting one of our creative online Kindergarten games: 3 Alarm Patterns.

In the game, players visit a fire station and learn about Patterns and Relationships by exploring and extending patterns using a variety of materials.

Players extend and create patterns using items found in the fire station scene.

If correct, stars burst on the screen.

[Game Sound]: Sound the alarm! You extended the pattern.

If the response is incorrect, hints are provided to aid the player.

[Game Sound]: Can you try again?

[Game Sound]: What comes next?

One of the special features of the game is that in the last stage, players have the opportunity to create any pattern they wish, to apply the learning from the game.

Patterns created in the last stage can be printed from the Community Gallery in the educator dashboard and used for communication and application of learning. This allows for assessment as learning and encourages peer and self-assessment.

In between each game stage, there is a fun activity in which players can tap on an interactive fire truck that they can then explore.

By the end of the game, players should be able to explore and extend patterns using a variety of materials.
