Welcome to TVO’s mPower! In this video, we are highlighting one of our creative online Kindergarten games: Weather or Not.
In this game, players visit a home and learn about Probability by using mathematical language to describe the probability of everyday events.
Players predict the likelihood of certain types of weather by tapping on a slider to indicate “unlikely,” “probably” or “definitely”. The left-hand, red side of the slider indicates “unlikely,” while the right-hand, green side indicates “definitely.” The middle of the slider indicates “probably.”
Players must click on the closet door to access the clothes, and dress the game character in clothing appropriate for that weather.
Players click and drag clothing to dress the game character. If correct, stars burst on the screen.
[Game Sound]: Totally! Flip flops are definitely a good choice!
[Game Sound]: My feet will stay cool.
If the response is incorrect, hints are provided to aid the player.
[Game Sound]: My hands will definitely be too hot if I wear mittens on a sunny day, make another choice!
By the end of the game, players should be able to use mathematical language to describe the probability of everyday events.
